Casualties of the COVID crisis

Charity workers are facing a fundraising shortfall and a rising caseload of struggling Australians, and fear the worst is yet to come as the economic fallout of COVID-19 continues.

Nearly one-fifth of Australian charities are at risk of collapse due to COVID-19, according to a new report. Disappearing revenues will force most of Australia’s 16,000 charities into deficit – and the report says it will take government help to ensure they survive.
